Lacanian Psychoanalysis
Psychoanalysis offers a unique way of being heard. At times, suffering can overwhelm us. We may repeat the same painful patterns and strangely, find ourselves in the very situations we most wish to avoid. Psychoanalysis does not offer advice, quick fixes, or techniques. It is an encounter with what is unconscious - the knowledge that speaks through our symptoms, dreams, slips of the tongue, and our repetitions. By attending to the particular ways you speak and to what surprises you in your own words, psychoanalysis opens up a space where something new can emerge. By looking to the unconscious causes of our symptoms, psychoanalysis allows us to live with the dignity and autonomy made possible by self-knowledge. |
What We Offer
Working on a one-on-one basis where conscious and unconscious realities are worked through, psychoanalysis offers the opportunity to speak and to be heard. At Psychoanalysis 130 we work individually in a non-judgmental and confidential process which respects the uniqueness of each individual regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality and socioeconomic status in a welcoming setting where you can talk freely about your troubles. For those who are located outside of Auckland, all of our clinicians are able to work online. We welcome all enquiries locally and internationally. |
Cost and Frequency
At Psychoanalysis 130, each person is encountered in their singularity. For this reason, there is no fixed rate for sessions. Your analyst will discuss and set the fee with you according to what is possible and reasonable to pay. Psychoanalysis typically involves meeting atleast one per week. This regularity creates a rhythm for the work to unfold, both for unconscious processes to emerge and to strengthen the analytic relationship. We are happy to address any questions you may have.
