Ruby Read
Analyst-in-Training with the CLA [email protected] Ruby has been practicing as a Psychoanalyst-in-Training since 2021. She is engaged in Clinical Psychoanalysis through the Centre for Lacanian Analysis Aotearoa, and has also undertaken Infant Observation with the New Zealand Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Ruby holds an MFA from the University of Auckland, and was drawn to psychoanalysis through the resonances she found between art and the unconscious. Her practice is grounded in the Lacanian field, which values listening to the fullness of a person’s speech—its rhythms, silences, slips, and contradictions. The unconscious formations that surface in dreams are treated as openings onto the complexity of lived experience to be heard without the demand for resolution. As a Psychoanalyst-in-Training, Ruby offers a reduced fee for those under financial strain. She believes psychoanalysis can alter the way we live, not by offering answers, but by opening a path to new possibilities in relation to what feels most unmanageable. A free initial consultation is available for those who are curious about psychoanalysis and what it may offer. |
